A visit to the Library

Last month I did a presentation at the Lake County Public Library for children and adults about writing books, and how an idea grows to become a picture book. It was a great group—from singing along with the pilgrim brothers to having them tell me how they would write the story differently. They had good questions. And no one asked me how old I was this time! I met some nice people, including lots of kids who like to read, a young girl who was having a birthday that week, a boy who brought his copy of my book from home, a mom who writes for children, and Courtney, who was there to help me with anything I needed. It was a great way to spend a summer afternoon! And they did take good care of me there. From setting up my PowerPoint, and printing my handouts and activity sheets, to helping me get my things back out to the car. Thank you! I’m sure we’ll meet again.

See you next week!
